The passwords for all accounts on macOS Mojave 10.14, macOS Sierra, OSX 10.11 El Capitan, OSX 10.10 Yosemite, OSX 10.9 Mavericks and OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion including admin and standard user accounts can be reset and changed when booted from the Recovery Partition on macOS.

Nov 11, 2017 Having problems when trying to update or change email password on iPhone, iPad, or iPod? If you recently updated and changed your email account’s password and then tried updating your iPhone’s Mail App or Account Settings, you likely discovered that there is. After incorrectly entering a user password three times at the Mac login screen, a message appears saying 'If you forgot your password, you can reset it using your Apple ID' Click the arrow button to bring up a 'Reset Password' dialog; Enter the Apple ID login information that is tied to the OS X user account and click “Reset Password”. When you make Outlook remember your password, you can receive and send mail without typing your password each time you open Outlook. Plus, you can make a complex password that you don't need to remember or constantly retrieve from your password manager.
Reboot into the Recovery Drive by choosing the ‘Apple‘ menu > Restart, hold down the ‘command’ + ‘r’ keys on the keyboard during the start up process, when you see the start up screen you can let go. When the machine boots eventually you will see the macOS or OS X Utilities screen.
Go to the Utilites menu and select Terminal
At the prompt type ‘resetpassword’ (hit enter) Fitbit for mac.
This launches the Reset Password screen, select the Volume Hard Drive in the top part of the window pane, then for the user that you need to reset select the user account in the lower part then add and confirm the new password and click save, you get a confirmation screen and details about the keychain account.
Go to the Apple Menu and click Restart to boot back to the normal hard drive and the new password will take effect immediately.
If you are using macOS Mojave the screen you see is a little friendlier, just select the account you want to reset the password on and follow the instructions.
The password you use to unlock 1Password is called your Master Password. It’s also the password that you use to sign in to 1Password.com if you have a 1Password account.
If you forgot your Master Password, follow the steps below to try to recover it. After you unlock 1Password, you can change your Master Password.

This ensures that your data is safe from intruders, but it also means that no one can reset your Master Password. However, you might be able to recover access to your data.
Can't Remember Apple PasswordRecover using another device
If you have 1Password on multiple devices, see if your Master Password works on the others. (If you have a 1Password account, don’t forget to try signing in on 1Password.com.)
If your Master Password works everywhere except one device, you should be able to start over on the device where it’s not working, and then sync your data from your other devices.
Recover using your family or team account
Another family or team member may be able to recover your account. This will let you choose a new Master Password.

If you use 1Password on an iOS device with Touch ID or Face ID, try to unlock the app using Touch ID or Face ID. If you aren’t prompted to do so when you open 1Password, tap the button below the Master Password field.

Recover from a backup on your Mac
On your Mac, 1Password makes daily backups of any standalone vaults you may have. If you’re using 1Password for Mac without a 1Password account, try restoring a backup of your standalone vaults from a time when your Master Password was working. Anything you’ve added or changed since that backup will be lost.
If you still can’t unlock 1Password
If you tried all the steps above, or you’re sure you’ll never remember your Master Password, delete your 1Password data and start over.
